Jersey Hockey Fights Hunger

We are proud to announce that the North Jersey Avalanche will be participating in the “Jersey Hockey Fights Hunger” Food Drive, spearheaded by the New Jersey Devils to benefit the Community Food Bank of New Jersey. Fans will be asked to bring their donations to the Prudential Center on Friday, November 11, when the Devils meet the Washington Capitals.
We request that each family make a minimum donation of 12 cans of food or $20.00. These donations will be collected at your respective team practices during the “Jersey Hockey Fights Hunger” week, November 7, 2011. The Food Bank welcomes monetary donations as well as canned goods. For every $1.00 collected, the Food Bank is able to purchase $10.00 worth of food. Items/donations are brought to the rink and the Community Food Bank will send a truck out to collect them. All participating players can receive up to four tickets to the New Jersey Devils Game vs. the Columbus Blue Jackets, November 23 at the Prudential Center as follows:

12 cans, or $20 donation 1 ticket
24 cans, or $30 donation 2 tickets
36 cans, or $40 donation 3 tickets
48 cans, or $50 donation 4 tickets

Team managers will be collecting all monetary and food donations at practices the week of November 7.

We have found our membership to be very generous in other charitable endeavors and we expect this to be nothing different. It is a terrific way to get the kids involved in helping the less fortunate families in New Jersey.
