JJ Piccinich signs with Youngstown Phantoms
The North Jersey Avalanche proudly congratulate JJ Piccinich on signing to play in the United States Hockey League next season with the Youngstown Phantoms. JJ spent most of his youth hockey years playing for the Avalanche, most recently for the Midget 16 National team. JJ led the AYHL last season with 23 goals and 19 assists in just 22 league games. The Midget 16 National team made their 3 consecutive trip to the USA Hockey national Championships after being crowned the Atlantic District Champions. He also was a star at Paramus High School helping them to a successful season.
“JJ Piccinich is one of the United States’ elite level power forwards and goal scorers in the 1996 birth class”, Jason Koehler Phantoms Director of Player Personnel said. “JJ had some tough choices to make for where he would play next season and continue his development and we are excited he chose to join our program and family next season. He’s going to be a great addition to the team and bring a tough two-way power forward with strong goal-scoring ability that also finishes all of his checks. Our fans will enjoy watching him as we see him as someone that will be a comparable player to our leading goal scorer this year – JT Stenglein”
We wish JJ the best of luck as he pursues his hockey career in the best junior hockey league in the country.
